Flexo Concepts names Ryan as president
Doctor blade manufacturer promotes 15-year veteran to lead unified management team.
Flexo Concepts has appointed Phil Ryan as president, promoting the 15-year company veteran from his most recent role as vice president of operations and technology to lead the Plymouth, Massachusetts-based doctor blade manufacturer.
Ryan joined Flexo Concepts in a customer service role and has since held positions spanning production management, procurement and operations analysis and service and supply chain management. He has led the company's digital transformation efforts, including the development of the FC Marketplace e-commerce platform, paperless manufacturing initiatives and the integration of AI-driven tools.
In his new role, Ryan inherits a management team covering sales, marketing, manufacturing, engineering and accounting, unifying the organization under a single leader for the first time in years.
'I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to continue building on that momentum, investing in our people and making sure Flexo Concepts and our customers are set up to thrive for the long term,' said Ryan.
'We've had many exceptional employees over the years, but none more impactful than Phil,' said Kevin McLaughlin, CEO of Flexo Concepts. 'He has played a central role in shaping our culture and we're fortunate to have him stepping into the day-to-day leadership of the company.'
As part of the transition, McLaughlin steps into an individual contributor role focused on sales, business development and key relationships, while former president Greg Howell moves to focus on the company's enterprise AI initiative, product development and special projects.
'This is the natural progression for Phil and Flexo Concepts,' noted Howell. 'He has a deep understanding of the business, a passion for innovation and an energy that will help propel the business forward.'
Flexo Concepts has been developing doctor blade products for more than 38 years and was certified for the sixth time as a Great Place to Work in 2025.
