ÅR Packaging to make €3m investment at two recently acquired plants
Following the recently completed acquisition of the European tobacco, chocolate confectionery and general packaging operations of MeadWestvaco, ÅR Packaging is planning to expand the plant in Krakow, Poland and invest in upgrading machinery at the plant in Graz, Austria.

The two plants, along with a third in Moscow, Russia, have ‘elevated ÅR Packaging to a top three position in the European folding carton market with a total group net revenue of approximately 550 million EUR (628.2 million USD),’ said Harald Schulz, ÅR Packaging chief executive officer, upon completion of the acquisition.
The investment at Krakow and Graz will total around three million EUR (3.4 million USD), and will provide a ‘further strengthened platform for competitive services to our customers and long-term sustainable business performance’, ÅR Packaging said in announcing the investment plan.
