‘Green Monster’ to be treated at FINAT cyber-clinic

FINAT members are being invited to attend ‘cyber-clinics’ in the comfort of their own offices as the self-adhesive label trade association launches an imaginative series of problem solving webcasts, starting with an examination of sustainability in an eco-conscious world.
The first, to be held on March 31 this year, will probe the challenges of ‘The Green Monster – Threat or Opportunity?’ FINAT managing director Jules Lejeune said: ‘Most larger enterprises have developed their strategies to cope, but many of the smaller businesses still struggle hugely with this subject. How can they take man and the environment into account, while improving products and services cost efficiently?’
FINAT is collaborating with IVAM, a Dutch institute for research and consultancy on sustainability, to present the ‘cyber-clinic’ which is aimed at reaching as many of its members, who are spread around the world, as possible.
There are four web events planned as part of FINAT’s 50th anniversary celebrations and at the end of the year, information from all four will be published as a collection – ‘Scenarios 2015’ – which will serve as guidance for its strategy for the coming years.
Lejeune said: ’Label converters in Europe will have to face more of these environmental challenges in the years to come. Not only will they be pressured by local, national and European law makers to change their operations and products but customers, also will demand clean and transparent methods and products. But these demands can also be converted into opportunities for new, innovative, sustainable and value adding solutions.’
Full details are on the members-only section of FINAT’s web site (www.FINAT.com). The organization is accepting questions in advance for answering during the one-hour cyber event. Future clinics will examine, markets (June), technology (September) and the industry’s structure (November).
