RotoMetrics has announced the successful acquisition of Gerhardt International.

The coming together of RotoMetrics and Gerhardt, two founders of the industry, provides our global, regional, and local customers the broadest portfolio of flexible dies, solid dies and special products with significant resources to invest now and in the future,’ said Michael Bryant, CEO of Rotometrics. 'Our teams are excited about the opportunity before us to continue to develop our collective technology leadership in rotary converting solutions.’

Converters will continue to have access to the full range of both companies’ current product solutions and technologies, including Gerhardt 3*, 5* and 7*  flexible and solid dies, RotoMetrics AccuFlex and FlexPremier flexible dies, solid tooling, magnetic and print cylinders and other ancillary products. Existing contacts within both RotoMetrics and Gerhardt will continue to promote these two brands and provide service and support.

The full Gerhardt team will now be located in RotoMetrics’ Aldridge, UK, plant. 'The integration of the full product line in Aldridge creates an unrivaled capacity for flexible die production and technology development,’ said Klaus Damberg, European managing director. ‘This is really a case of the whole being greater than the sum the parts as we integrate the Gerhardt technology into our operation.’

The combined company will have global headquarters near St Louis, Missouri, European headquarters in Wiesbaden, Germany, and major manufacturing operations on four continents with a global sales and service network. The company’s facility in Herlev, Denmark, is a center of excellence for non- woven and specialty converting tooling and support.

Karen Moreland, VP sales at Rotometrics, said: ‘Our teams are excited about the opportunity to continue to develop our collective technology leadership in rotary converting solutions. The ability to draw on the collective experience sales, technical support, and manufacturing resources of both companies will help us meet the industry’s expanding needs for innovative products, ever shorter lead times and local service.’
