Sandon Global was part of the winning combination in the Irish Print Awards self-adhesive label category scooped by New Era Packaging Ltd for its Sainsbury’s Superior Dark Rum print. Organized by Irish Printer magazine, the award is an annual celebration of excellence within the Irish printing industry.

Commenting on the production challenges, David Nevin, sales director, New Era Packaging, said: ‘The winning drinks label required the highest possible quality of print. The artwork incorporated delicate screen work and extremely fine reverse print out of the 4-color process with an additional gold. Each color required the use of an individually specified line/cm anilox roller. For example 120 for the gold, 160 for black and yellow with 400 and 800 being used for the cyan and magenta respectively.’

‘We are delighted to have been a part of this success story,’ commented John Milllington, managing director at Sandon Global. ‘Our anilox roll technology played a significant part in a number of awards during 2008 including those of EFTA and FlexoTech. We are proud to be associated with companies such as New Era Packaging who are producing such high quality work.’

Nevin concluded: ‘Sandon go that one step further with the quality of their product and back-up service. Their experience and knowledge in anilox rollers is unsurpassed.’

Established in 2004, Sandon Global manufactures laser engraved ceramic coated anilox and gravure rollers for the flexographic printing industry.
