SEI, an Italian supplier of laser technology with
presence in 38 countries, has founded a new company, SEI Laser Converting,
whose aim is to enter the converting field. Established in Bergamo in 1976, SEI manufacturers laser
cutting and marking machines and counts upon a highly qualified R&D
department with over 20 years of experience.

The new company, SEI Laser Converting, is focused on
developing industrial applications for the digital converting sector, including
paper, cardboard and labels and roll and sheet materials.

Ettore Colico, sales executive for SEI Converting, said:
‘Our philosophy, which is the key strategy of the whole group, is the idea that
any application has a laser alternative. This is what we call “the laser way”.
It is indeed surprising to find out day after day that there are new and
countless sectors where laser technology can be applied.’

The company says that the growing need for
customization and increased production speed make the laser a valid alternative
to traditional technologies for high production volumes as well as for
sampling, pre-series and small to medium production.
