US converter installs Squid Ink’s VDP system

Squid Ink Manufacturing, a manufacturer of inks and inkjet printing equipment, has installed its VDP In-Line variable data printing system at Edwards Label, headquartered in Ventura, California.
The four-head 10 inch VDP In-Line printing system was installed on a Mark Andy 4150 press with the ability to be moved to other presses in the factory. The system is being used to print sequential numbering, barcodes and game codes in line on tags and labels.
Edwards Label provides a variety of high quality promotional products ranging from booklet labels to scratch and sniff game tags. Edwards Label is also able to service Central and South America with additional facilities in Mexico and Brazil.
The VDP In-Line variable data printing system prints up to 8.4 inches of any variable data like sequential numbers, sequential barcodes, traceability codes or game codes on tickets, tags and labels. The system mounts to an existing narrow web flexo press or rewind/inspection unit and prints in-line to avoid taking labels off-line to print variable information with thermal transfer printers.
