FINAT, TLMI and LMAI to host YMC Global Congress in Chicago

FINAT’s Young Managers Club (YMC), TLMI and LMAI are to jointly organize a global congress in Chicago next year.

YMC workshop sessions led the program of its second summit in Warsaw, Poland

FINAT’s YMC recently host its second summit in Warsaw, Poland, with 40 young managers from companies representing the self-adhesive labeling supply chain across Europe and beyond in attendance.

The theme – ‘great ideas with limited resources’ – was chosen to reflect the challenges the industry faces in terms of rising costs and competitive technologies, but most of all to create a professional platform for grasping, and successfully developing, future business opportunities. This was delivered through a program of workshop sessions and networking opportunities.

Jules Lejeune, FINAT managing director, said: ‘When the FINAT Young Managers Club was founded on the occasion of our 50th anniversary in 2008, the aim was to create a platform where incoming business leaders could connect FINAT’s successful past with a dynamic future.

‘Now, five years later, the YMC itself has become an established feature of FINAT’s structure. Yet it is still refreshing to experience the continuing stream of the YMC’s high-quality, interactive, and business-oriented programmes, which are setting new standards in FINAT.’

A YMC Global Congress was held in Germany in 2012 in the year after the group's first summit, and was also supported by TLMI and LMAI, as well as Germany's VskE. The 2014 YMC Global Congress is to be held during September next year in Chicago, where the next installment of Labelexpo Americas is taking place on September 9-11, 2014.

TLMI is a trade organization for converters and suppliers in the North American tag and pressure-sensitive label industries, while LMAI, the Label Manufacturers Association of India, is a central body incorporated to promote label manufacturers and their suppliers across India. LMAI launched its own YMC in 2010, along the same lines as the initiative launched by FINAT. The TLMI Young Leaders Development Organization similarly provides leaders under the age of 45 in managerial positions with their companies a forum to network with their peers, interact with one another in a non-competitive atmosphere and help shape the future of the label industry.

Labelexpo India is also to take place in 2014, from October 29 to November 1 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
