Herma UK director rides to Brussels for charity

Colin Phillips, division director of Herma UK, completed a solo cycle ride from the company’s Newbury, UK headquarters, to the steps of Labelexpo Europe in Brussels to raise money for three charities: Breast Cancer, Cancer Research and Namuwonga children's charity.

Recalled Phillips, ‘I managed the 300 mile ride in three days with my parents as a support team, which meant refreshments were always available!’

Two years ago Phillips was part of a six-strong Herma team which cycled the same route to Labelexpo Europe 2013. ‘The ride was very different this time riding solo. However, the weather was very kind to me and I spent the three days in my saddle heading east into glorious sunshine.’

The terrain took in the hills of the Kent countryside then a much flatter ride through France and Belgium to Brussels.

‘Following the ride it was on with the suit and four very, very busy days on the Herma stand with less rest than on my ride!’

Phillips has not yet revealed his plans for the next Labelexpo.
