BASF Printing Systems has updated its plates technology centre in Stuttgart with the installation of Hell HelioFlex 1200 and Creo ThermoFlex Wide II laser imaging systems. The showroom features a completely redesigned FV Flowline Washer that will process photopolymer printing plates within very tight tolerances. A new software control system ensures the washer provides reliable and reproducible results, says BASF. The showroom also features the latest generation of measurement devices from Vipflex and M-Service for the analysis of photopolymer printing plates. Artworks Systems has installed its latest ArtPro and Nexus Workflow products.

The Creo ThermoFlex WIDE laser is suited for plate sizes up to 1321x2032 mm with an option for sleeve processing. The change from plate to sleeve and from sleeve to sleeve can be performed without a crane in just three minutes. The HelioFlex F1200 from Hell is suited for a plate size of 1200x900 mm, and it also offers the sleeve processing option.

Russian company Alpha, based in Moscow, will soon install a 900x1200 mm laser setter. The company has installed more than 40 lasers around the world.
