PrintCity Alliance members manroland, Sun Chemical, UPM, Cofely, M-real and Sappi presented their shared process knowledge across sheetfed printing and packaging at a seminar in Moscow on November 17.

Around 100 Russian delegates attended the event at the Holiday Inn Hotel Lesnaya to hear a series of presentations by PrintCity members on the subject Adding Value to Sheetfed and Packaging Printing Applications.

PrintCity Alliance is a unique integrated cross-industry alliance that fosters co-operation across the graphic arts value chain. Its goal is to help respond to some of the major ongoing challenges facing the industry.

The event was organized in partnership with GIPP, the Guild of Press Publishers. PrintCity said its seminars offer a unique opportunity for converters to gain valuable process knowledge on packaging production best practice, consumables and opportunities to attain real business benefits. All technology providers in the process chain freely share their knowledge to answer audience questions. In Moscow, attendees received latest knowledge on trends for packaging and commercial print production, through process focused presentations. Direct benefits included access to the shared knowledge of PrintCity members, plus networking with other industry professionals.

Feedback from those attending was hugely positive. Denis Strunnikov, of Antalis Company, said: ‘A lot of aspects affect production efficiency. All the speakers communicated their messages to the audience clearly and competently. It was fascinating.’

Ludmila Zagumennova, of Chekhov Polygraphic Factory, said: ‘The participants presented a great deal of scientific and practical information of current interest.’
