Creo HyperFlex is FPPA Technology Innovator of the Year
Creo’s HyperFlex plate resolution enhancement software has been selected as the recipient of the 2005 Flexographic Pre-Press Platemakers Association Technology Innovator of the Year award. Established in 2000, this award recognizes companies that have made significant contributions to the advancement of the flexographic prepress industry through the application of innovative technology.
HyperFlex resolution enhancement is a Creo technology that makes flexographic platemaking and printing more predictable, reliable and consistent. HyperFlex software allows small highlight dots to be formed and held on a photopolymer plate throughout the print process.
"With the advent of digitally imaged photopolymer plates many imaging systems have been introduced that create the 'best' dot structure and pattern for the 'best' tonal rendering on press," said Fred Stringfellow, FPPA executive director. "Creo HyperFlex stands alone by integrating its already proven screening technologies with the simultaneous creation of supportive photopolymer elements around the actual image area. Printing an enhanced tonal range with increased highlight detail should prove more consistently achievable for anyone who embraces this product."
This is the first time in Creo history that any one of its technology has received three industry awards. In 2003, HyperFlex received the GATF InterTech
Technology Award, followed by the Flexographic Technical Association/Flexo
Market News Technical Innovation Award in 2004, and now the 2005 FPPA Technology Innovator of the Year award. "We are extremely pleased with the recognition we have received for HyperFlex," said Steve Miller, Creo product manager, packaging workflow solutions. "To win one award for a product is an honor. The fact that three distinct industry associations have selected
HyperFlex to be the recipient of their annual technology awards, really points to the uniqueness of the technology and the value it brings to the flexo industry."
