Associations and universities

Clemson University
Booth 6613

Clemson University’s Sonoco Institute of Packaging Design and Graphics highlights the education, research and industry at the intersection of packaging and print. The institute’s Advanced Print Lab hosts several hands-on training events each year. The institute provides courses for introductory, intermediate and advanced skillsets and covers topics from platemaking to press characterization, as well as custom courses. The lab is available to book for confidential, R&D press trials. Its 7-station Omet VaryFlex is equipped to run water, solvent and UV (conventional and LED) ink formulations as well as a wide variety of substrates.
Offering in-house platemaking, process inks, and substrates, Clemson serves as a one-stop shop for print research. Its full-time staff and student interns collaborate on real-time industry research, connecting companies with tomorrow’s workforce.

Flag (Flexographic Label and Adhesive Group)
Booth 3004

Flag, the buying group and membership organization for independent label converters, presents its membership program. Visitors can meet the Flag team and learn about member benefits, including group purchasing, vendor partner programs, peer networking and business development resources. A show discount on new membership is available at the booth, along with complimentary attendance to the 2027 Flag Annual Meeting for new members joining at the show. Flag also hosts member roundtables on the Monday before the show opens, and a member and vendor partner dinner the evening before the show.

Foil & Specialty Effects Association (FSEA)
Booth 5737

The Foil & Specialty Effects Association presents findings from two independent studies on the recyclability of transfer metallic decoration, covering hot foil stamping, cold foil transfer and digital foil processes on fiber-based materials. The first study, in conjunction with the Georgia Tech Renewable Bioproducts Institute, demonstrates that transfer metallic decorated paper and board do not adversely affect repulpability in standard repulping processes. A second study, conducted at the Van Dyk Technology Center, confirms that fiber-based transfer of metallic decorated materials is being sorted and accepted by material recovery facilities into the recycling stream.
