Aisa and Heidelberg agree Linoprint distribution deal
Exclusive distribution agreement to give Heidelberg access to base of tube producers

Aisa Automation Industrielle and Heidelberg CSAT have signed an exclusive distribution agreement to target the press manufacturer’s Linoprint L digital drop-on-demand (DoD) system at the growing market for digitally printed tube packaging.
Swiss-based Aisa develops, produces and sells tube packaging production systems, and said the tube packaging market is growing, especially for shorter run sizes of 10,000 to 20,000 with high impact decoration.
As such, digitally printed laminate tubes is a growing market and Heidelberg’s Linoprint L digital DoD system, initially developed for label printing, has now been qualified for the printing of high value barrier tube laminates.
Heidelberg’s Linoprint L offers linear printing speeds of up to 48m/min at 600dpi in two different printing widths, 210mm and 420mm.
The deal between Aisa and Heidelberg will allow the latter access to a customer base of tube producers, with Aisa now able to offer digital printing tailored for the needs of the tube industry.
Aisa is to show the Linoprint L system at K 2013 in Düsseldorf, which started today, where it will be printing aluminum barrier tube laminate.
Joachim Sander marketing director of Aisa, said: ‘Aisa’s strategy aims to integrate more value adding production steps into our tube solution portfolio, and with the Linoprint L digital printing machine and our partnership with Heidelberg, Aisa will be able to help customers to better compete within their markets and to develop new markets, where plastic tubes are not yet been used.’
