Landa reveals further launch details
Beta sites to be in Israel, Germany, UK and US

The beta test sites to receive the first Landa Nanographic Printing presses will be geographically diverse, and see the company make further investments in its engineering and production.
Speaking during the Packaging Innovations London event, Landa European sales manager Gerry Mulvaney said the first beta sites will be in Israel, Germany, the UK and US.
He was detailing the recently announced updates to the Landa press series, including new features and architecture and improved print quality, which are most evident in the new ink ejectors that have raised the achievable resolution to 1,200dpi and the new operator cockpit layout.
Mulvaney (pictured, above) said: ‘The goal is to exceed expectations, so we must achieve offset quality, which is what the market is demanding of new digital press technology. This is particularly true if we are to meet the aim of taking digital printing mainstream, and not purely for short runs of less than 1,000.
‘We believe the print quality of our technology is now at 85 percent and will be working with our partners and customers to achieve that final 15 percent, which is often the hardest.’
‘To help this we are investing in our engineering and production capabilities, and building new machine and ink plants.’
He also spoke of the integration of inspection and in-line coating as further developments Landa has made to its presses in response to specific market demands, with an in-line photospectrometer and video monitoring running as two independent inspection processes.
He gestured towards future developments too by adding: ‘We know coating will become a digital option in the future, and while we’re not offering it now [the new in-line coting options offers aqueous and UV spot or flood coating] we know it will come in the future.’
