Luminer expands its manufacturing facility

Luminer, specializing in pharmaceutical market labels, has completed an expansion of its primary manufacturing facility in Lakewood, NJ to accommodate the growing extended content label (ECL) business.

Luminer expands its manufacturing facility

The expansion allows Luminer to accommodate new ECL production line which will more than double its manufacturing capacity. Among other advantages, the expansion also has allowed the company to segregate its quality inspection processes into a 7,000sqf climate-controlled independently managed production cell. The QC inspection department will also have two new servo controlled rewind/inspection units installed with 100 percent inspection capabilities.

Occupying the additional floor space will be several newly hired press operators, rewind operators, prepress technicians, and factory assistants. As Luminer looks to bolster its workforce for the future while addressing a nationwide shortage of press operators by hiring several individuals new to the industry for a chance to build careers in the printing/converting business.

‘The expansion exemplifies Luminer’s most significant growth spurt in recent years, particularly in extended content labels for the clinical trial and pharmaceutical sectors – a niche where our versatility increasingly serves as a key differentiator,’ said Tom Spina, president and CEO of Luminer. ‘The additional space gives us ample room for new equipment, broadened capabilities and, of course, future growth as we make continued headway into various markets’.
