The devices are suited to specimen and pharmacy labelling in busy healthcare settings.

TSC Printronix Auto ID has launched healthcare variants of its TH DH Series of desktop printers as well as the new Alpha-30LHC mobile printer, all encased in easy-to-clean, antimicrobial plastic.

The devices are suited to specimen and pharmacy labeling in busy healthcare settings such as laboratories, pharmacies and GP/veterinary practices and patient identification/tracking in hospitals and care homes.

TSC also launched the DH220E desktop device with USB connectivity, designed for affordable, everyday printing demands. Prints from 10mm to 60mm widths and retains the same unique qualities of the DH Series, ensuring optimal performance.

To support its Alpha mobile printers, TSC has also launched some new accessories, including:

• 12-48V wire to wire battery eliminator with power supply

• 12-60V DC vehicle open end power adaptor

• External fanfold media holder with expansion kit

• Quick release vehicle mount kit

• Wire to wire dummy battery pack

Bob Vines, UK, Ireland and Nordics country manager for TSC Printronix Auto ID, said: ‘Our new Alpha-30HLC, the TH 220THC, the TH 240THC, the DH 240THC and the DH 220THC are our first devices to be specifically manufactured in wipeable, antibacterial plastic to reduce the spread of germs. They are ideal for busy healthcare settings and come complete with a medical grade power supply compliant with IEC 60601-1 standard.’

The TH DH Series are available in robust 2-inch and 4-inch versions, with 203 DPI or 300 DPI print options in each. Encased in bright white antibacterial enclosures, these rugged devices can print up to 7,000 labels a day. Effortless to integrate and use, and with enhanced security, these devices will produce high-quality labels on a wide variety of media, including linerless. Integrating and deploying the TH DH Series is easy, label templates stay the same even when switching from other printer brands. Remote, real-time management and self-diagnostic TPH Care make for fast trouble- shooting and maximum uptime. Enhanced security helps protect networks from cyber-attacks and downtime.

For on-the-go printing in healthcare environments, the new Alpha-30LHC mobile printer is encased in a robust, disinfectant-ready, grey and white plastic. It is lightweight, comfortable, can print labels on demand and is rugged enough to withstand multiple drops of up to 2.5 meters. It uses USB, MFi Bluetooth or dual-band Wi-Fi to connect to a mobile computer or smartphone and offers fast roaming as well as enterprise-level security.

Both the TH DH Series and Alpha-30HLC can print on linerless media. Both the packaging and printers’ plastic casings on the TH DH Series are 100 percent recyclable, and over 90 percent of these devices‘ components are recyclable too. The TH DH printers casings are also made from 30 percent recycled plastic.
