The digital press, to be installed at its production facility in Durban, marks the company’s first step into digital printing.

Hilton van Rensburg, VR Print managing director, said: ‘This is our first venture into digital printing, a clear choice with the rising demand for short runs, but we didn’t want our customers to see a reduction in print quality. We’ve selected the Screen press based on the outstanding samples we’ve seen, and because it’s a highly productive press.’

The sale represents the third label press Screen has sold to South Africa, a significant market according to Bui Burke, Screen Europe senior vice president of sales. ‘We’re excited to be working with VR Print and be chosen for its entrance into digital. South Africa is traditionally a strong area for Screen so we’re delighted to maintain that momentum with our label presses. This sale also represents our fourth sale of the Screen Truepress Jet L350UV+ in quick succession; it’s fantastic to see the press having such an impact on the market in such a short space of time.’

The first sales of Truepress Jet L350UV+ are to the UK's James Hamilton Group, and Spain’s Docuworld and Italy’s Impronta Digitale.Springfield Solutions has taken the world's first Truepress Jet L350UV+LM.
