ETI Converting Equipment opens plant in China
ETI Converting Equipment, a Canadian company specialized in the conception and manufacturing of label making equipment, has opened a plant in Songjiang, China for the manufacture of its Metronome presses.
Francois Bayzelon, founder and president of ETI Converting Equipment, explained: ‘The decision to set up a plant in China comes from the imposition of a 37 percent import tax on all printing equipments by the Chinese government, thus rendering impossible top-of-the-range products’ delivery from our Canadian plant.’
ETI China will have some 60 employees by the end of 2007. A first Metronome press is being manufactured and ETI is currently negotiating several important contracts to supply the clear/clear label market.
Songjiang New City, in the suburbs of Shanghai, regroups many high-tech companies in an ultramodern industrial park.
