Bobst to support UK carton converter’s growth
Kingston Cartons makes double Bobst purchase

Hull-based carton maker The Kingston Carton Company has ordered two new Bobst finishing lines to meet a 40 percent growth in orders.
The two lines ordered by Kingston Cartons are a Visioncut 106 LE die-cutter with optical register system, and an Expertfold 110 A2 folder gluer with multi-purpose capabilities. Installation of the lines is scheduled for mid-December.
The Visioncut has been specified with an optional speed upgrade from the standard 8,000sph to -9,000sph. The Expertfold will process straight line, crash-lock and four- and six-corner boxes at speeds of up to 350m/min.
The machines will replace older equipment, giving Kingston Cartons increased output on the same plant footprint, more cost-effective production and reduced lead times.
Arend Buitendam (pictured, top), managing director of Kingston Cartons, said: ‘We have seen a huge increase in orders over the past year, in fact our order book is up by around 40 percent. Despite the doom and gloom in the industry we are finding that there are orders out there to be had. Both new and existing customers appreciate the quality and the speed of response we can deliver, and we have won some significant new contracts because of it.
‘But to maintain our service levels to customers we have to be regularly investing and we need excellent suppliers like Bobst.’
Buitendam added: ‘We are driven by what our customers demand of us. To keep pace with this we need to continuously update our production equipment and buying Bobst gives us access to the most innovative and best quality machinery available, which means we keep our customers happy.’
