Martin Automatic to supplement new Aquaflex press

Martin Automatic has been chosen to supply butt splicer and transfer rewind technology for the new servo driven press from Aquaflex, the ELS-Max.

Aquaflex ELS-MAX

The new Aquaflex/PCMC ELS-Max comes in 24in, 28in and 32in widths, utilizes both plates and anilox sleeves, and features PCMC’s own designed force loaded doctor blade chambers designed for fast, constant running with extended doctor blade life.

Water-based, UV, and solvent drying options are available, and the ELS-Max offers complete job storage and recall from the Rockwell control system, which is standard on all PCMC wide and narrow web presses.

Martin Automatic’s MBSF-LTD splicer is engineered with driven spindles to unwind and splice a variety of film webs as thin as 0.5mm (12 microns) at full press speed.  Its LRD rewinder gives the press non-stop roll-to-roll production capability, and offloads printed rolls automatically to a skid for shipping.

The first ELS-Max press, which has a 710mm web width and 300m/min running speed, was previewed in January at PCMC’s iMpact 2013 Open House in Green Bay, Wisconsin, before installation at a customer’s facility.

A second set of Martin Automatic splicer and rewinder equipment is on order for an identical press to be delivered to the same customer in summer 2013.
