Screen to add Highcon digital finishing to Truepress JetSX

Highcon and Screen are collaborating to add the new Euclid digital cutting and creasing machine (pictured, left) to the latter’s Truepress JetSX B2 sheet-fed inkjet press.
Both the Screen Truepress JetSX (pictured, below) and Highcon Euclid will be launched at Drupa, with the press previewed in 2010 and now made available commercially, while the finishing machine is being marketed as a tool to turn carton finishing from an analog process to a digital one.
Takanori Kakita, general manager of the global sales and service division, the media and precision technology company at Screen, said: ‘As soon as we heard about this latest development in digital folding carton finishing, we immediately made contact to learn more about the Euclid. Our visit to Highcon headquarters convinced us that this digital cutting and creasing machine will provide real value in the complete end-to-end automation process.
‘Screen is committed to end-to-end automation to prevent human errors, shorten turnaround time, and optimize the overall production process. We firmly believe that the use of more automated and efficient systems in the printing industry of the future will open up a world of business opportunities for our customers.’
Eitan Varon, vice president of marketing of Highcon, said: ‘We are delighted that Screen has taken such a lively interest in our new technology. We have already started cooperating on the production of samples which we will show at Drupa 2012.’
