SOMA names agent for Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan
Iran Rotative Co. PJS appointment marked by conference to address environmental issues and reduced VOC emissions
SOMA Engineering has appointed Iran Rotative Co. PJS as its representative for Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan.
The company will be responsible for the sales and support of the full range of printing and converting machines from SOMA including mounter-proofers, flexographic presses, laminators and slitter rewinders.
Based near Tehran, Iran, Rotative represents several other European equipment manufacturers in the narrow web printing and folding carton fields, and is well placed to expand its activities to cover the wide web flexible packaging market.
The appointment was announced at a recent conference held at Iran Rotative’s Print Training center in Karaj, which is one of the largest training facilities of its type in the Middle East.
Tomas Vrana of SOMA said: ‘The conference was a unique event at one of the most modern training facilities and equipment showrooms in the region and addressed challenging trends in flexible packaging and the environmental issues currently being faced by printers and converters.
‘Over 61 companies participated in the event where we were able to present equipment solutions that resonate with the trend towards handling thinner materials and the use of water-based inks.’
He added: ‘In addition we also manufacture hydraulic-free slitter rewinders able to handle a wide range of very thin films and biodegradable materials. All are aimed at reducing the emission of volatile organic compounds and their impact on the environment, as well as having the added benefits of reduced running and production costs.
‘We are delighted to have such a well-established and strong partner in the region.
‘The conference was well organized and the feedback obtained will enable us to further develop and offer solutions appropriate for this market.’
