Flint Group scores success with seminar in Brazil and Flexo Academy in China

Flint Group Flexographic Products claims its recent technical seminar in São Paulo, Brazil, was a great success, with more than 80 delegates from 40 different companies attending.
Fabio Oliveira, head of Flint Group’s Technical Sales in Latin America, explained the advantages of the new innovative nyloflex NExT exposure technology, which is capable of generating unique element shapes with precisely reproduced surfaces, commonly known as Flat Top Dots. It requires neither the use of inert gases nor additional expensive consumables, so the effect of oxygen inhibition is eliminated, improving the repeatability of plate making, and expanding the tonal range, which offers the possibility of surface screening and improved ink transfer and lay-down.
On the other side of the world, Flint Group organized a Summer Flexographic Academy in Shanghai in response to a lack of educational training for the flexo industry. Forty teachers from sixteen universities and colleges attended the training and practical sessions, which were given by Flint Group, EskoArtwork, Auclean, Tesa, Omet and Avery Dennison.
Flint Group’s general manager China, Magenta Zheng, gave an overview of the Chinese flexo market, and Lee Yushan, technical manager Greater China, spoke about analogue and digital plate making processes. Sim Cai, senior equipment engineer & technical sales manager, then gave an introduction to the company’s latest developments such as the nyloflex® NExT technology, the nyloflex® Automated Plate Processor (APP) and the nyloflex® In-The-Round technology (ITR). Later on, the teachers demonstrated practical plate making at the company’s Technical Centre.
Chen Na, from Wuhan University commented: ‘The training was very helpful. Now I understand the latest flexo technology, I can teach it to my students. We met a lot of industry peers and experts, with whom we can share information and carry on discussions after the event.’
