Gidue adds 2200 square meters to manufacturing plant

Gidue, an Italian manufacturer of narrow and mid-web presses, has decided to add 2,200 square meters to its headquarters in Turate, Italy while waiting for its new facility to be completed in 2010.
While Gidue’s plant in Florence continues to produce the Xpannd offset heads, making the most of their expertise and skills in offset rotary technology, the Gidue enlarged plant in Turate will be equipped for the manufacturing, assembly and final testing of these hybrid machines.
‘Our decision to enlarge our plant is connected with our objectives in terms of further growth in 2009,’ explains Federico d’Annunzio, president of GIDUE. ‘Next year, the demand for our presses is expected to become even higher. While the demand from Western countries will mainly be focused on the new generation of intelligent, servo-driven machines – like the Xpannd, the sleeve gearless mid-web Athena and the I-Combat – the emerging markets will concentrate on our mechanical or light servo models, such as E- and S-Combat or Quadra.’
The design of the building under construction, located roughly 2 km away from the present headquarters, includes 8,220 square metres for manufacturing and already incorporates the possibility to extend the total production surface up to 12,330 square meters.
