GSM Primographic lands Jaguar label contract
Label and nameplate specialist GSM Primographic has been awarded a contract with Jaguar. The elite automotive manufacturer became the 14th pan European OEM to select GSM Primographic as a label supplier, joining a list that includes Land Rover, Saab, Ford, General Motors, MG Rover, Nissan and Bentley.
GSM Primographic’s Brecon factory is producing more than 120 parts for Jaguar, including vehicle identification nameplates (VINs), tire labels and security products. It produces labels and nameplates in materials ranging from removable materials to void polyesters.
General manager Andrew Farthing says: ‘We’re using a range of material facestocks and adhesives. The facestocks can be suitable for thermal printing together with UV and water based inks. The adhesive types vary from removable adhesives used for car doors, to specialist adhesives suitable for low surface energy plastics.
‘We are using void labels together with security labels where we can either select high cost materials or less costly materials and add security features on-line in the manufacturing process.’
The company is part of the GSM Group, one of Europe's largest manufacturers of printed labels and nameplates in metal and plastics, which also has manufacturing sites in Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire and Yorkshire.
‘We are delighted to be awarded this contract by Jaguar,’ adds Farthing. ‘This reflects our commitment both to service and to continuing innovation to produce the best possible label and nameplate products.’
