Gulf Print & Pack expo attracts more visitors

More than 8000 visitors attended the recent Gulf Print & Pack expo in Dubai, an increase of 9%, and an encouraging sign for Tarsus, the new owners and organizers, who are best known in the printing industry exhibition world for the Labelexpo series of global events.
Speaking for Tarsus, managing director of GPP, Roger Pellow stated: ‘We were delighted to attract visitors from 83 different countries, 36% of whom were from outside the UAE, which shows how strong the market is in the Middle East and North Africa. Best of all, was the positive feedback from exhibitors, many of whom concluded high value sales agreements at the exhibition.’
Among those companies enjoying positive results in Dubai was Canon, who co-exhibited with Océ,and secured several large orders, one of over $500,000. Others who complimented the show for its success in attracting buyers during a difficult time for business were: Flint Group Packaging, SMI Coated Products, Dynagraph, XOL Automation, Presstek Europe, and Technomec.
The afternoon seminar program proved especially popular, and attendances were high for the main topics presented: Security & Anti-Counterfeiting; Digital Solutions; and Package Printing & Converting.
Announcing a 56% take-up of the available space for the next Gulf Print & Pack expo in 2013, the organizers also launched a ‘Print Pack Summit’ to be held in Dubai in November 2012. More details of this event will be available shortly.
