Heidelberg has acquired Belgian software specialist CERM, which specializes in developing MIS for commercial and package printing. The plan is integrate CERM into the Prinect production workflow.
Speaking for Heidelberg, Marcel Kiessling stated: ‘We aim to present a fully integrated MIS solution with central data management in combination with our Prinect print shop workflow at drupa 2012, and start the worldwide roll-out step by step. CERM is an excellent addition to our existing solutions.’
Tom Musschoot, former owner of CERM said: ‘We will continue to serve all our existing customers, and as part of Heidelberg, will be able to extend our business globally through its worldwide sales channels.’
The success of CERM’s MIS for narrow web printers in Europe will now be extended. ‘Heidelberg’s worldwide presence will create a unique sales channel for our very specialized narrow web solution,’ said Musschoot. ‘We are already serving our first US customers, and will now be able to reduce the time-to-market.’
