Heidelberg UK to sell Gallus folding carton kit
Heidelberg is to sell Gallus folding carton machines in the UK market with immediate effect.

Paul Thompson, product manager for Heidelberg UK’s folding carton portfolio, will lead this new development supported by the Heidelberg sales and service teams throughout the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
Gallus, a company which is 30 percent owned by Heidelberg, offers a range of folding carton products, roll-fed flexographic technology in both UV and water-based formats with in-line finishing, including die-cutting and value added options.
The Gallus ICS 670 and smaller format CCS 510 are machines that print (flexo, gravure and/or screen), finish (hot or cold foil stamping, varnishing and/or laminating, reverse printing) and process from the reel to an individual carton blank in one pass. Gallus also produces larger format machines under the product name INTRO with a focus on high volume production and liquid packaging.
Gallus equipment produces a very wide range of work from fast food packaging to high impact foiled cigarette shells. Pharma, health and beauty care as well as confectionary applications will be served along with lottery ticket and liquid packaging printing.
The decision to use Heidelberg UK as the distributor of its folding carton machines follows the retirement of Jim Dunlop of CPL Solutions. It will allow Gallus to use the expertise of Heidelberg in this area with its established platform in folding cartons and die cutting equipment.
Thompson said: ‘This is an exciting development for Heidelberg and shows our continued commitment to the UK and Irish packaging industry. Gallus has a known pedigree for producing high quality and technically excellent machinery.
‘It has an established and proven installation base in this market. We look forward to working closely with them and supporting their existing customer base.’
Gallus will continue to serve the labels market directly.
