Green Bay, WI-based Convergen Energy was founded in 2009. The company produces renewable fuels for power generation facilities, assisting manufacturers across industries in avoiding the sending of waste by-products to landfills.

To date, the company has helped to divert more than 450,000 tons of waste by-products, creating a cost-effective fuel option that industrial power plants can utilize as a substitute for traditional fossil fuels or in combination with these fuels.

The waste that Convergen collects from Labelexpo will be made into fuel pellets, a more sustainable and cost-effective substitute compared to coal and natural gas.

‘We are thrilled to be partnering with Convergen Energy to offer Labelexpo Americas this service free of charge,’ said Rosalyn Bandy, VP of sustainability at TLMI. ‘In the coming weeks, Tarsus will be sending a sign-up form to all exhibitors, and I urge companies to take advantage of this opportunity that provides an alternative to landfilling the waste that will be generated at the show.

‘Convergen will also be presenting on TLMI’s EcoStage each day of the show and I’m confident that attendees will find the company’s story and services of interest as we all continue to develop strategies and objectives to become more sustainable stewards of our industry. Sustainability is one of the five pillars of the TLMI Strategic Plan and our partnership with Convergen at Labelexpo further demonstrates how committed TLMI is to providing sustainability resources and education to the greater printed packaging industry.’
