Phoseon Technology, a UV LED curing specialist, has partnered with Narrow Web Italia to integrate its light sources into new and retrofit printing machines for the narrow web flexographic market.
According to Phoseon, UV LED integration offers higher yields and decreased operating costs, including up to 80 percent less power consumption versus mercury arc lamp technology. There is no warm-up time with instant-on LEDs, increasing productivity and profitability.
Phoseon’s patented technology offers improved capabilities for flexo print applications. The intense UV output paired with UV LED flexo inks is claimed to achieve record press running speeds. The low heat output enables improved capabilities on heat-sensitive materials, unsupported films, and thinner substrates while requiring less maintenance and energy.
‘As the demand for UV LED technology grows in the print markets, and specifically in the narrow web flexo market, Narrow Web Italia has the capabilities to provide integration services in a comprehensive, cost-effective and timely manner,’ said Herman Horters, business development manager for flexo in EMEA at Phoseon.
‘We are excited to partner with Phoseon to bring our customers the reliable and cost-efficient LED curing technology,’ added Gabriele Gerbella, managing director at Narrow Web Italia. ‘With this partnership, we can provide our customers a product with proven quality for their application needs.’
