Contego plays it cool for optimum results

Pharmaceutical carton plant Contego Packaging in Fareham has specified a Technotrans beta.c.220 to control the temperature of its ink and dampening system on its latest B1 press.

Technotrans was chosen as a result of previous experience and the need for standardization of processes to produce optimum printing results.

‘The unit controls temperature and ensures that our quality and productivity is optimized, and that the ink-water balance is correct. It means that the ink tack is exactly right and the dampening clean and cool for the best printed results,’ explained Bill Thomas (pictured, top), operations manager. ‘Having the ink and dampening controls in a single unit has made a real difference to our energy consumption and reduced our carbon footprint, which we take very seriously.’

All beta.c units are equipped with a softflow filtration system. A contamination sensor signals when a filter change is required, and the fresh water and dampening solution drain points allow for easy cleaning.
