Flint Group raises ink prices in North America
Increase in the US and Canada follows energy, freight and pigment pressures.
Flint Group Packaging Solutions has announced it will raise prices across its packaging inks and coatings range in the US and Canada from December 14, 2026, citing sustained cost pressures during the second half of the year.
The company says energy and ocean freight costs remain high, and that pigment costs have risen significantly as Chinese safety initiatives cause raw material capacity shortages in Asia, particularly China. It adds that high crude oil prices are raising the cost of petrochemical precursors, including solvents, resins, additives and other related materials, which has pushed up the cost of making and supplying inks and coatings.
Flint says it continues to improve operational efficiency and to work with suppliers to limit costs and keep supply continuous, but that the increases are needed to maintain the quality, service and supply reliability customers expect. Local sales representatives will contact customers to confirm the increases for their products.
'We recognize the impact that price adjustments have on our customers and have carefully considered this decision. We also understand the importance of clear communication on pricing. Our teams will provide details and key data points to support discussions with customers about the increase,' said Nicki Kerrigan, vice president sales and service in North America at Flint Group Packaging Solutions.
