Loparex completes recapitalization

Release liner maker cuts debt after Monarch and Atlantic Park deal.

Loparex has closed a comprehensive recapitalization led by Monarch Alternative Capital and Atlantic Park, General Atlantic’s strategic capital franchise, which the Cary, North Carolina-based release liner manufacturer says significantly reduces its debt, improves liquidity and gives it more financial flexibility.

Other investors and lenders also took part. The deal was announced on September 8, 2026 and has now closed, following customary conditions that included regulatory approvals. Loparex says it intends to use its stronger financial position to pursue organic and inorganic growth opportunities, and that customer and vendor relationships will continue as normal with facilities focused on serving customers worldwide.

Loparex has manufacturing, technology and sales facilities across North America, Europe, India, China and Thailand, and serves the tapes, building and construction, health care, graphics, hygiene, composites and label markets. In November 2025, it acquired Enterprise Coated Products Inc., which added to its portfolio and gave it specialized small-batch, narrow web capabilities alongside its scale. It also continues to invest in product innovation and operational excellence.

‘Completion of this recapitalization is a significant step forward for Loparex and enhances our global leadership in the release liner industry,’ said Rich Holder, CEO of Loparex. ‘We appreciate the confidence shown by Monarch, General Atlantic and our other investors and lenders. We are entering this next chapter better positioned to invest in innovation, operational excellence and growth while continuing to deliver for our customers around the world.’

When the deal was announced, investors also commented on the rationale. ‘We believe that this transaction significantly strengthens the Company’s financial foundation, positioning Loparex to invest confidently in its next phase of growth. We look forward to partnering with the management team and General Atlantic as the Company enters this next chapter,’ explained Navid Rahgozar, managing principal at Monarch.

‘With a strengthened capital structure, we believe Loparex has significant opportunity to advance its long-term growth strategy through continued product innovation and targeted expansion. We are pleased to support the Company’s momentum alongside Monarch,’ added Jimmy Kleitches, vice president at General Atlantic.
