Package printing primers central to Michelman’s Labelexpo presence
Michelman will showcase its DigiPrime package printing primers, formulated specifically for use with HP Indigo’s 20000 and 30000 digital presses, at Labelexpo Europe 2015 as part of its work to improve ink receptivity, rub resistance and image quality on most types of paper, plastic, metallic and film substrates.

Michelman’s presence at the show, taking place September 29 to October 2 in Brussels, Belgium, will include DigiPrime 050 for use with the HP Indigo 20000, a digital press designed to print on web-fed flexible packaging substrates, labels and shrink sleeves. DigiPrime 050 is designed to enhance adhesive bond strength between film layers, and can be used in conventional adhesive laminated structures. DigiPrime 060 is formulated for the HP Indigo 30000, a sheet-fed digital press designed to print folding cartons. Michelman’s DigiPrime 060 enhances ink adhesion on the substrate, and will not interfere with converting operations including erection of the carton, gluing, date coding and barcoding.
The company will also introduce DigiPrime 680, a primer formulated specifically for use in the in-line priming (ILP) unit of the HP Indigo WS6X00 series of digital presses, at the show. Particularly effective for flexible packaging printing applications, DigiPrime 680 improves ink receptivity on most types of film, exhibits good lamination bond strength and improves printing performance on shrink sleeves.
DigiPrime 4431 will also feature, and is a versatile flexo and gravure ready primer that provides 'excellent' adhesion of HP Indigo ElectroInks to film and paper substrates printed on HP Indigo digital presses. It is suitable for food contact and is widely used for a broad variety of challenging labelstocks.
