Another Lombardi to be installed in Bangalore

Mangalam Creations, sister concern of Venkateswara Packagings, a corrugated box manufacturer based in Bengaluru, will get its first flexo press with an 8-color Lombardi 330to be installed at its facility in December 2016.

A highly configured press will be used to print self adhesive labels and relatively short run shrink sleeved labels. The features include two die-cutting units with sheeter, cold foil unit, turnbar, de-lam, relam and chill drums. This press can handle substrates from 12 micron to 400gsm.

On diversifying to label printing, Chetan Paras Kothari, director at Mangalam Creations, said: ‘We evaluated many machines but finalized this press at Labelexpo Europe 2015. This press has everything I wanted including good quality and price.’

The company Venkateswara Packagings has been making corrugated boxes and printing commercial jobs since 1970s. Kothari added, ‘Our customers wanted label products from us so everything is under one roof. I started studying the label market in 2014 and it took me two years to invest in the flexo industry.’ The company also has an offset plant where it prints mono cartons and promotional products.

Nicola Lombardi, marketing manager at Lombardi Converting Machinery, said: ‘We are proud to collaborate with a company like Mangalam Creations. I hope to sell another press in the near future to them as they grow.’

The company will also install an offline die-cutting and hot foil stamping machines to complement the press. They are yet to finalize an inspection slitter rewinder for the plant.
