Channeled Resources installs Catbridge slitter

Channeled Resources Group (CRG), a manufacturer of blank shipping labels, release liner and laminated papers and films, has installed a Catbridge 900 slitter at its plant in Toronto, Ontario for better precision and productivity.

GMC Slitting Team welcomes New Catbridge Slitter to Toronto facility (L-R) Steve Cook, Rupert Zulueta, and Dan Hayes.
The Catbridge 900 slitter was purchased for CRG’s silicone coating division, GMC, in Toronto, Ontario. It is 50 percent faster and features more automation capabilities than the current slitter at its facility. Channeled Resources’ GMC division specializes in narrow web, custom-coated paper release liners for the tape, sealant, envelope, graphic, and specialty markets.

The model 900 duplex center slitter rewinder offers versatility and speed. Ideal for narrow web slitting, this slitter rewinder is capable of speeds to 2500 feet per minute or more, depending on the material, a 32 inches rewind diameter and a minimum 1-inch slit width.

Advanced technologies and features precisely control roll edge quality and density. The slitter will be used with the two coaters at CRG’s facility – 40- and 22-inches narrow width coaters.

According to Cindy White, president and CEO, CRG, ‘We should now be able to slit with much greater precision, in half the time. In today's world, if you don't get faster and reduce waste, you won't be here tomorrow. We are quite excited about this new piece of equipment.’
