Dasyl Prévot boosts productivity with Mark Andy P5

French printer Dasyl Prévot has invested in a Mark Andy P5 press, described as ‘the best combination of specification and price’ for the type of work it produces.

The P5 at Dasyl Prévot is an 8-color UV flexo line with a 330mm web width, and is described as ‘the best combination of specification and price’ for the type of work produced for the company’s portfolio of 2,000 customers in the food and pharma industries where typical run lengths are around 2,000 linear meters.

It also equipped with Mark Andy's Quick Change Die Cut (QCDC) that allows dies to be exchanged through a drop-down panel in the press’ side frame. The die cassette is unlocked and transferred onto a cart, which is wheeled away, while the new die is loaded using the same process in reverse.

Dasyl Prévot already operates a Mark Andy 2100 press, but, in 2013, the company’s invested in the new Mark Andy P5 after a visit to see one in action at fellow French label converter Color 01, and machine trials and test runs at Mark Andy’s European demonstration facility in the UK.

Daniel Prevot, who founded the company with his brother Sylvie, said: ‘For me, the best flexo press is manufactured by Mark Andy, and its after-sales back-up is unmatched – I ordered a set of parts for our 30-year-old 2100 press, and it was delivered eight days later – that’s what I call good customer support.’

Next on the shopping list at Dasyl Prévot is likely to be a digital line, and Daniel Prévot said that the new Mark Andy hybrid line, due to make its exhibition debut at Labelexpo Americas in September, looks an interesting prospect. ‘I value the support Mark Andy France has given me, and I trust them to advise me on new technology,’ he concluded.
