De La Rue installs bespoke printing system

Lake Image Systems partnered with the UK-based Ross Manufacturing developed a flexible, sheet-fed inkjet printing and inspection system, incorporated into a modular, air vacuum transport conveyor. The system automates the print production and in-line inspection.

The new system consists of three main components. The first, Ross Manufacturing built modular air vacuum transport conveyor for the transport of sheets, leaflets, labels, cards and packaging from 115x60mm up to 540x720mm in size.  The second part is an inkjet print head and lastly a print inspection system from Lake Image Systems integrated onto the transport conveyor belt incorporating high resolution linescan cameras and high intensity LED white, color or UV lighting.
