Elite Labels installs UK’s first Horizon RD-4055

The Horizon RD-4055 can die-cut, kiss-cut, crease, perforate, slit, hole punch and round corner in one process for digital and offset printed sheets. It has a repeat register function that enables the running of multiple up imposed applications with a smaller die to reduce die cost, and can offer up to five repeats in a single pass.

‘It will open new doors for us,’ Elite Labels manager Saabir Sidik said. ‘We will now be able to offer a range of options that are creative and cost effective. We can also be faster which means we will be able to increase capacity.

‘Before we were hand cutting on a guillotine and drilling holes. The RD-4055 offered greater flexibility. We can now make dies to suit orders and we can be more creative with those dies.’

Elite Labels has also installed a B3+ Foliant Vega 400A compact industrial laminator, designed for a heavy duty digital outputs lamination, with an integrated deep pile vacuum feeder and a high speed bump separator, with non-sticky pressure roller and in-run adjustable twin decurl bar and overlap system.

‘We had a hand-fed laminating system but needed something faster and more automated to keep up with the increasing workload’ Sidik added. ‘We liked the Foliant. It is faster, easier to set-up and operate. It was the perfect choice.’
