Fleet of new Mark Andy Performance Series presses to help Reflex Labels achieve major sales growth

UK converter Reflex Labels has installed eight Mark Andy Performance Series presses as the company targets substantial growth of its sales in 2016.

Six of the eight new Mark Andy presses have been installed at Reflex Labels’ headquarters in Mansfield

The presses, installed over a 12-month period, all have a 430mm (17in) web width, and all bar one are specified with 10 UV flexo printheads, plus the GEW Rhino system and full roll-mapping provided by AVT. Six of the new presses have been installed at the group’s headquarters in Mansfield, where the majority of work produced is self-adhesive labels with a typical run length of around 4,000 linear meters.

Reflex is a longstanding Mark Andy customer, although the order for the eight presses followed extensive print trials to ensure that the new machines would provide the productivity boost that the company required.

Reflex’s Mansfield site is now totally equipped with Performance Series presses, which according to the plant’s production manager, Gavin Barron, makes life very easy and offers a major boost to production flexibility. ‘As part of the team that carried out the print trials, it was obvious to me why Mark Andy has sold so many Performance Series presses; it’s a consistent performer across all types of work, and is a perfect fit for what we do here at Reflex, where the need is to combine efficiency and high quality so that we stay competitive.’

Reflex Labels CEO Ian Kendall has indicated more Mark Andy press installations are to come, and with the company seeking to grow its sales from 70 million GBP (100 million USD) in 2015 to 90 million GBP (129 million USD) in 2016, he stated: ‘I’m confident we have invested in the right presses to take us there.’
