Nuova Gidue targets Turkish growth

Nuova Gidue sees opportunities for expansion in the Turkish label and packaging market, which it has described as ‘attractive’, with a number of important installations and orders in the country confirmed this year through its local distributor IMEX Group.

Turkish converters Etimag and Tanitim Etiket have purchased 370mm-wide MX UV flexo presses from Nuova Gidue, featuring eight print units and a die-cutting station

Nuova Gidue said that, in terms of profitability, 2014 has been a successful year for the company, especially in the Turkish market due largely to its work IMEX Group. This has included the installation of several MX printing machines in recent months with, what Nuova Gidue said are, some important converters in Turkey.

This includes Yeniler Etiket, based in Istanbul and founded in 2004, which specializes in the production of thermal and logistic labels. It purchased an 8-color 370mm-wide MX press with die-cutting unit in 2013, and has since purchased a 370m-wide MX2 with eight UV flexo print units and two die-cutting stations

Mehmet Akdag, owner and director of Yeniler Etiket, said: ‘We bought the first MX during the Printtek Expo exhibition in Istanbul and we were so happy with this investment that in six months we decided to buy another Nuova Gidue press.

‘With the growing demand of the market for high-quality labels, it is necessary to operate with advanced systems and Nuova Gidue technology is exactly what we were looking for.’

Fellow Turkish converters Etimag and Tanitim Etiket have purchased 370mm-wide MX UV flexo presses from Nuova Gidue, also featuring eight print units and a die-cutting station.

Oguz Okur, director of Etimag, said: ‘We saw Nuova Gidue presses in a famous print house in Istanbul and we were immediately surprised by its performances and the ease of the operations. We have therefore decided to add it in our machinery inventory and today I can say that we are more than satisfied with this investment.’

Taner Sansal, director of Tanitim Etiket, added: ‘The cooperation with Nuova Gidue distributor IMEX Group started several years ago and we have always been satisfied with every investment, such that when we decided to buy our first UV flexo press we had no doubt about where to go. The Nuova Gidue MX press is really the ultimate solution for every converter that wants high quality in printing with a moderate price.’

Since being launched in the summer of 2012, more than 50 Nuova Gidue MX presses have been installed worldwide.

Cristina Toffolo, Nuova Gidue vice-president of marketing, concluded: ‘Turkey is an attractive market in which to deal, with a large rate of expansion. Its growth in the packaging industry is becoming a leading reference in Europe by showing signs of modernization typically Western.

‘Nuova Gidue provides a wide range of solutions for the labels and packaging industry, such as digital automation, tension and temperature control, multi-process and added value converting, and offers exclusive solutions and best value for quality and innovation in the Turkish market.’
