Pamarco to make laser engraving investment

Pamarco Global Graphics is investing in additional laser engraving capacity for its UK plant in Warrington

Pamarco Global Graphics is investing in additional laser engraving capacity for its UK plant in Warrington as a result of continued strong growth in demand across the EMEA flexo printing markets.

The addition of a further ALE multi-beam laser, which is due to be completed towards the end of the year, follows a period of investment focused on upgrading the capabilities of its European plant. This itself is part of a five-year strategic growth plan.

During 2012, Pamarco added capacity in grinding, lapping and polishing, while 2013 saw a major upgrade program for its ceramic coating facility, adding the latest, most efficient Sulzer plasma spray equipment to ensure high-quality coatings. A further upgrade to a second Sulzer coating line will be completed in the third quarter of 2014.

2013 also saw the upgrade of MicroDynamics volume measurement systems.

Pamarco said the addition of a further ALE multi-beam laser will meet the demands of its OEM and converter customers for ever-improving service times.

Nick Walker, general manager of Pamarco Europe, said: ‘Quality, consistency and service are our drivers and all these investments are key to achieving these efficiently, ensuring Pamarco quality is available at competitive pricing.’
