This saw it install technology upgrades to presses and finishing systems, with almost every piece of printing and finishing equipment in the facility enhanced by new systems.

Steinhauser  is a digital and flexographic label and packaging printer producing labels, shrink sleeves, and flexible packaging for many industries with a focus on the health and beauty, and food and beverage markets.

For example, Steinhauser’s HP Indigo WS6000 is now equipped with an in-line priming unit to reduce waste from off-line coating processes and gain control of primer coat weight, and an AVT Helios II has been installed to obtain 100 percent defect detection, PDF comparison, color monitoring and roll mapping. Each of its Comco Proglide presses has also been outfitted with the AVT Helios II systems.

Steinhauser’s CEI rewinders have also been upgraded to the AVT Work Flow Link to work directly with information from the AVT Helios II to increase production and accuracy in the finishing process.

To further increase efficiency and quality on these flexo presses, CC1 Apollo 2 systems were installed. These systems assist in fully automating circumferential registration and constantly detect errors in lateral and circumferential registration.
