The company chose the CDI Crystal 5080 due to its high resolution fiber laser imaging to produce the perfect plate for all flexo print applications that require high quality print output and stability on press. The system has been designed by Esko to address market pressures of shorter lead times for plate delivery in response to increased product versioning and the need to quickly respond to changing market dynamics, resulting in an increased number of SKUs. It also meets the expectations for higher quality in flexographic printing, delivering consistency plate after plate.

Veepee's relationship with Esko dates back to 2006 with the installation of an Esko CDI (Cyrel Digital Imager). In 2009, Veepee installed the first CDI with inline UV and HD screening in the Asian region, and more recently was one of the first Asian companies to adopt Esko’s Full HD Flexo technology to increase production capabilities, and to become HD Flexo certified by Esko. It also utilizes a wide range of Esko software including PackEdge, Plato, FlexRip, Flexo Fix, Flexo Clean, BackStage and ArtiosCAD.

Jai Chandran, Veepee’s managing director, said, ‘We have worked with Esko for many years and have gained significant competitive advantage by implementing the Esko suite of end-to-end prepress and plate making systems. We look forward to the impact on quality and consistency the new Crystal 5080 will deliver. After watching it in action at Labelexpo, we were convinced to make the investment.’

Pascal Thomas, Esko’s director Flexo Business, concluded, ‘Veepee is a proven early adopter of advanced technology. They recognize the benefits our CDI Crystal 5080 offers and value these benefits will bring to their bottom line. Faster throughput and increased quality are keys to customer retention in a highly competitive marketplace.’
