Securikett Ulrich & Horn wins Finat award

Austrian label converter Securikett Ulrich & Horn has won first place in the security category of Finat’s international labeling competition for the fourth time.
The Finat jury said: ‘The acceptance test proves that this security label is very difficult to reproduce. This label was created from a combination of flexo printing, screen printing and digital printing and is protected by a complex security stamp. For optimal protection against weathering the verso printing method is also used in which all the printed elements lie beneath a special foil. Integrating all of these processes makes it virtually impossible to copy this label.'
Securikett has developed special sealing labels, numbered labels and hologram labels to prevent counterfeiting and the unauthorized opening of packages for a variety of industries. Its product portfolio also includes multi-layered labels, wrap-around labels, cap sleeves, labels for promotional purposes, and many types of multi-layered labels incorporating variable numbering or encoding.
According to Securikett, technical expertise and modern high-performance printing machinery are the basis for its success. Its top-quality printing presses include two MPS EP410 and one MPS EF410. Dr Ulrich-Horn commented: ‘MPS production lines are among the few machines available on the market that can work with multiple web throughputs in perfect register while handling several different printing processes, with very little set-up waste’. Flexo printing, screen printing, hot foil stamping, applying correctly registered holograms, embossing, laminating and many other processes can easily be combined. A special strength is handling widely differing materials, from the thinnest films up to the thick laminates and heat-sensitive substrates.
