KPG donates latest proofing technology to RIT

As part of its ongoing effort to support higher education, Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) donated the Kodak Approval NX Digital Color Imaging System that it displayed at Graph Expo to the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).

"RIT's School of Print Media is among the premier providers of graphic and new media education, and it is important for us to have access to the latest equipment available," said Patricia Sorce, Chair, School of Print Media, RIT. "With industry leading technology such as the Kodak Approval NX System, we are able to better prepare our students for their futures in the graphic arts industry. KPG has helped make it possible for us to provide such high quality education, and we are certainly grateful for that."

The Kodak Approval NX Digital Color Imaging System uses the latest in thermal imaging technology to produce digital halftone proofs. Featuring Rapid Recipe Color technology, the Kodak Approval NX System can apparently produce millions of spot colors faster than the current industry standard.

"The rapid evolution of technology makes it necessary for students to have access to the latest developments in graphic arts equipment," said Rick Mazur, Vice President of Marketing, KPG. "By donating our latest technologies to universities, we enable students to use the same equipment they will likely encounter when they begin their careers."
