Label Summit India approaches
Label Summit India 2007, the high-level conference taking place on 7-8 March, will welcome a range of prestigious speakers from some of the world’s biggest brands to New Delhi. With various industries including the retail sector opening up further to foreign investment, the event provides the ideal focal point for the Indian and international label industry to meet and identify the upcoming commercial opportunities available in this market. Pre-registration is well underway with over 600 delegates from across India and beyond expected to attend.
Senior experts from PepsiCo, GlaxoSmithKline, Tesco, Reckitt Benckiser, Hewlett Packard and Ranbaxy Laboratories will be speaking to the international delegation giving their in-depth insights and perspective on the future developments in the industry. A key focus of their discussions will be what brand owners require from the label industry, including a detailed look at the impact of RFID developments now and in the future.
The summit follows the success of the 2006 inaugural event which welcomed 609 label industry senior professionals to the conference and table-top exhibition. The 2007 event is supported by local label industry association partners including the All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP), the Label Manufacturers Association of India (LMAI), the Indian Flexographic Technical Association (IFTA) and the Screen Printer’s Association of India (SPAI).
The two-day conference program will cover many hot topics affecting the future of the local and international label market, including: trends in the Indian label industry; the economic outlook for India; the benefits of digital printing; advances in RFID technology; increasing productivity and saving costs; and the role of the Indian converter as a global player. Several converter panel sessions will also feature during the conference.
A table-top exhibition running alongside the event will feature top international suppliers including: Nilpeter, Gallus, Mark Andy, Avery Dennison, Omet, Esko, GEW, Gidue, Rotometrics, UPM Raflatac, Zeller & Gmelin, Kaygee Loparex, Kurz India and BST Sayona Stork, to name a few. Gemini Traze RFID, a key global manufacturer of RFID readers and antennas is exhibiting at the summit to highlight its brand new RFID inlay manufacturing unit in Thirumazhisai, near Chennai.
Roger Pellow, Labels Group managing director, said: ‘We’re very much looking forward to the summit next month and it’s an exciting time to be holding the event with the Indian economy going from strength-to-strength and news of various sectors increasingly opening up to international investment. We’re delighted to provide a strong educational platform to help stimulate growth and investment in the label industry in India and would like to thank our local partners for their support.’
