Iggesund extends presence in Eastern Europe

Iggesund Paperboard has established a new freight terminal in Riga, Latvia and opened a sales office in Moscow to boost Russian sales as it looks to expand its services for Eastern Europe and cultivate its delivery services on a global scale.

Iggesund Paperboard’s terminal in Riga has been operational since April

Iggesund Paperboard’s terminal in Riga has been operational since April and the sales office in Russia will be inaugurated in July.

Rikard Papp, director for the Asia-Pacific region and merchants in Europe at Iggesund, said: ‘We need to be near the customer both in terms of deliveries and other services required by today’s customers.’

Due to Iggesund’s interest in the Russian market, it took part in the RosUpack exhibition in Moscow earlier this month having featured in last year’s event also.

‘The intense interest we met with last year convinced us that we should establish a sales office for the Russian market,’ said Papp. ‘It is a major market that definitely has room for a high-end product like Invercote.’
