Label Summit India 2006, taking place at the Grand Hyatt Mumbai on 21-22 February 2006, is attracting high profile speakers and exhibitors from across the globe, all keen to be taking part in the Indian label business as the country begins to open up for international investment.  With India’s booming middle class of over 300 million people (more than the entire population of the USA), the second largest pool of scientists and engineers in the world, and a predicted economic growth of nearly 7per cent over the next five years, India is certainly one of the key growth areas in the future of the label industry.

Mike Fairley, the world-renowned label expert, will be chairing the conference sessions at Label Summit India.  Topics to be covered include: ‘The latest press technology for global brands; Self-adhesive label growth and opportunities in India’; ‘Brand owner experiences of using self-adhesive solutions’; and ‘Growth of the Indian market from a converter perspective’.  The full conference program can be found on the Labels & Labeling website.

Leading international suppliers such as Gallus, Gidue, Link Label Machinery Co. Ltd, Mark Andy, Nilpeter, Omet, Raflatac, and Rotoflex will all be exhibiting at Label Summit India.  Visitors will be given ample opportunity to meet, network and do business with suppliers in-between the conference sessions.

Harveer Sahni, Managing Director, Weldon Celloplast Limited, said, ‘We have been visiting the Labelexpo at Brussels year after year as visitors.  The Labelexpo 2005 at Brussels has been a gateway to the center stage of global label business for us.  We have had the chance to share thoughts, visions and experiences with some of the largest and renowned label printing houses.  A congregation of printers across the globe gave us leads to new markets and their needs.

‘Our experience at the show has firmed our resolve to implement stricter quality assurance and new product development programs. I feel more and more people, particularly from growing markets like India, should participate in quality events like Labelexpo - to enable them to gear up to global challenges in quality and marketing. We are used to seeing many Indians visiting stands, seeking agencies, and distributorship, for Indian markets, but it was a refreshing experience to see many people from various countries visiting our stand and requesting distributorship.

‘As a result of our success at Labelexpo Europe 2005, Weldon Celloplast is delighted to be leading the way among Indian suppliers and taking part in Label Summit India, part of the Labelexpo Global Series, in Mumbai next February.’

Roger Pellow, Labelexpo Managing Director, said, ‘Label Summit India is really going to spice up the Indian label industry!  It is the only event in India with key international suppliers taking part in both the conference and exhibition – and it is the only conference in India at which Mike Fairley, the highly respected label guru, will be both speaking and chairing conference sessions.  The cream of the Indian label industry will be at Label Summit India and I am very much looking forward to the event.’
